Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of: (i) evaluating the trainees’s satisfaction on trainers and training performance; (ii) evaluating  the implementation of training results in their work units; (iii) evaluating the impact of training on trainee’s and/or unit performance; and (iv) identifying the constraints that hinders the training results to support the improvement of alumni competency and performance. Kirkpatrick's Evaluation Model was employed, and data was collected using questionnaires and interviews as well as descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The findings reveals that; (i) the overall aspects of training implementation were considered ‘very good’ by the participants, even though did not yet meet their level of expectation. The teacher however, indicates that the overall aspects of training have been able to meet the expectations of participants; (ii) the Effective Negotiation Skills training improved alumni competency after returning to work. This can be seen from the average value of the total perceptions of alumni respondents related to changes in competence after participating in training as much as 8.34 (on a scale of 1-10). Paired sample t-test analysis also showed a significant influence indicating improvement of alumni competency, especially in negotiating with the stakeholders; (iii) the results of training significantly have positive impacts on trainee’s and/or unit performance. This can be seen from the average total of alumni perception on impacts of 4.12 (high) in scale of 1-5 where 1 is very low and 5 is very high) scale. Majority of alumni feel that its positive impacts indicated by increasing of negotiation capability to stakeholders; (iv) The biggest obstacle experienced by alumni in applying knowledge obtained from the training in the workplace is different language, culture, and character, which posed  difficulty for them to negotiate and communicate work unit tasks and target performance. Penelitian ini  dilaksanakan dengan tujuan: (i) mengevaluasi kepuasan peserta diklat terhadap pengajar dan penyelenggaraan diklat; (ii) mengevaluasi implementasi hasil diklat setelah kembali ke unit kerja; (iii) mengevaluasi dampak hasil diklat dalam meningkatkan kinerja alumni diklat dan/atau unit kerja; dan (iv) mengidentifikasi kendala yang menghambat penerapan hasil pelatihan. Model Evaluasi Kirkpatrick digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dan data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara serta teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa (i) keseluruhan aspek evaluasi penyelenggaraan dinilai oleh peserta dengan kategori Sangat Baik meskipun belum dapat memenuhi tingkat harapan dari peserta yang ditunjukkan dengan angka rata-rata di bawah 100%. Di sisi lain, keseluruhan aspek evaluasi pengajar telah dapat memenuhi harapan dari peserta; (ii) pelatihan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi alumni dalam mendukung pekerjaan alumni setelah kembali ke unit kerja. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata total persepsi responden alumni terkait perubahan kompetensi setelah mengikuti diklat sebesar 8,34 (dari skala 1-10). Hasil uji-t berpasangan menunjukkan hal yang sama bahwa program pelatihanyang dilakukan berhasil dan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam peningkatan kompetensi alumni; (iii) hasil pelatihan memberikan dampak terhadap kinerja alumni dan/atau unit kerja alumni dengan nilai rata-rata tingkat dampak positif bagi kinerja individu dan/atau unit kerja dengan kategori tinggi; (iv) kendala terbesar yang dialami oleh alumni dalam menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dari pelatihan di tempat kerja adalah perbedaan bahasa, budaya, dan karakter, yang menimbulkan kesulitan ketika  melakukan negosiasi dan komunikasi tentang tugas dan target kinerja unit.

Abstract

Mathematical thinking is divided into lower-order thinking skills (LOTS) and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). The LOTS is consisted of recall thinking and basic thinking, while HOTS required a more complex thinking abilities such as critical thinking and creative thinking. This research is aimed to develop a valid, effective, and practical HOTS-based worksheet for S-1 PGSD students who took Mathematics course in Universitas Terbuka. The application of HOTS-based worksheet is expected to be able to improve students’ learning motivation, as well as their ability in thinking critically and creatively in solving mathematical problems. The research is a developmental research, and the obtained data were analyzed descriptively. The subjects of this research were 72 students of S-1 PGSD program Universitas Terbuka Surabaya who took Mathematics (PDGK4108) course. The results showed that the developed HOTS-based worksheet fulfils the validity, practical, and effective criteria to improve students’ learning motivation, which can be seen that 77% of students (56 students) felt encouraged and motivated to think critically and creatively, 72% of students (52 students) showed the ability to solve problem based questions. Furthermore, 78% of the students (41 students) achieved 75 out of 100 score or more. It can be concluded that the application of the developed HOTS-based worksheet is suitable in teaching Mathematics. Kemampuan berpikir dalam matematika dibagi atas kemampuan berpikir tingkat rendah (low order thinking skills disingkat LOTS) dan berpikir tingkat tinggi (high order thinking skills disingkat HOTS). Berpikir yang tergolong LOTS meliputi berpikir memanggil (recall thinking), dan berpikir dasar (basic thinking),sedangkan yang tergolong HOTS meliputi berpikir kritis (critical thinking) dan berpikir kreatif (creative thinking). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan LKM (lembar kerja mahasiswa) berbasis HOTS pada matakuliah Matematika di program S-1 PGSD UT yang valid, efektif dan praktis. Pendekatan tutorial dengan menggunakan LKM HOTS ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta meningkatkan kemampuan dalam mengerjakan soal-soal matematika sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan (developmental research) dan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 72 mahasiswa program S1 PGSD UPBJJ UT Surabaya yang mengambil mata kuliah Matematika (PDGK4108). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKM berbasis HOTS yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis danefektif,  untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa, ditunjukkan oleh 77% (56 mahasiswa) yang merasa tertantang dan termotivasi untuk berpikir tingkat tinggi (kritis, dan kreatif), 72% (52 mahasiswa) mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal yang bersifat pemecahan masalah, dan dari mahasiswa yang mampu tersebut ada sebanyak 78 % (41 mahasiswa) mendapat nilai lebih dari atau sama 75 dari skor maksimal 100. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa LKM bebasis HOTS yang dikembangkan cocok untuk diaplikasikan dalam pengajaran matematika.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research was carried out to explain the impact of value clarification technique to improve elementary student learning motivation, interest and  achievement in social studies.  This technique was in two cycles, involving29students, 10 male and  and 19 female. The theme discusses was the important family events. The results of pre-cycle learning activities were obtained with a mean grade of 56,38, there are 10 students (34,48%) who achieved the minimum score of mastery. The observationreveals that students who are courageo us and are able to answer the teacher's questions correctly are 9 people or 31,03%. The data from Cycle 1 indicates a better result, with the class average of 68,28, and  17students or 58,62% achieved the minimum score of mastery. The observation also shows an increase of students whowere able to answer the teacher's questions correctly, which is 16 students or 55,17%. The Cycle 2 activity which used Value Clarification Technique (VCT), suplemented audio visual media obtains a better result with a mean of 86,72, and 27 students (93,10 %) who achieved the minimum score of mastery. The observation also shows a better percentage, 26 people or 89.66% who are capable of answering teacher questions correctly. It can be concluded thatValue Clarification Technique (VCT) using audio visual media can improve student motivation and learning achievement. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini mempunyai tujuan menganalisis penggunaan model value clarification technique untuk meningkatkan motivasi, minat, dan hasil Belajar IPS siswa Sekolah Dasar. Kegiatan pembelajaran Prasiklus menghasilkan rerata kelas 56,38, dengan peserta didik yang tuntas sebayak 10 atau 34,48%. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan siswa yang memiliki keberanian dan mampu jawab pertanyaan guru dengan benar baru 9 orang atau 31,03%.  Dari Kegiatan Siklus 1 diperolehrerata kelas 68,28, dengan peserta didik yang tuntas sebayak 17 orang atau 58,62%. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan siswa yang memiliki keberanian dan mampu menjawab pertanyaan guru dengan benar meningkat, mencapai 16 orang atau 55,17%. Kegiatan Siklus 2 yang menggunakan Value Clarification Technique (VCT) dengan berbantuan media audio visual  diperoleh hasil rerata kelas 86,72 dengan peserta didik yang tuntas sebayak 27 orang peserta didik atau 93,10 Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan siswa yang memiliki keberanian dan mampu jawab pertanyaan guru dengan benar mencapai 26 orang atau 89,66%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Menggunakan Value Clarification Technique (VCT) berbantuan audio visual meningkatkan motivasi peserta didik dalam proses belajar dan hasil belajarnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creative thinking skills of junior high school students based on mathematics anxiety and gender. Aspects of creative thinking skills used in this study are fluency, flexibility, and novelty. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instruments used were open-ended questions consisting of algebra and geometry questions, mathematics anxiety questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The study was conducted in class IX E of SMPI Al Azhar 12 Rawamangun Jakarta. The subject of this study consisted of four students, they are male student with low mathematics anxiety, female student with low mathematics anxiety, male student with medium mathematics anxiety, and female student with medium mathematics anxiety. The results of the mathematics anxiety questionnaire showed that none of the students in class IX E had high math anxiety. There are differences in the fulfillment of aspects of creative thinking in terms of differences in mathematics anxiety and gender levels. Students with low math anxiety fulfill aspects of fluency, flexibility, and novelty in algebra and geometry questions. Students with medium math anxiety fulfill aspects of fluency and flexibility both in algebra and geometry questions. Female students fulfill aspects of fluency, flexibility, and novelty both in algebra and geometry questions. Male students fulfill aspects of fluency and flexibility in algebra questions, while in geometry questions the aspects that are fulfilled are fluency, flexibility, and novelty.
PENDEKATAN KEARIFAN LOKAL DAN BUDAYA (KALBU) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI PURWOREJO Adinugraha, Fajar

Abstract

The Globalization may gives negative impact that causes fading the culture and spreading the radicalism easily. Education is one of way to prevent it, the name is the learning approach. The objective of the research is to describe the form of implementation the KALBU approach (Local Wisdom and Culture) towards biological learning in Purworejo. The research method is descriptive research, the name is study of literature. The literature study was carried out by analyzing local wisdom and culture in Purworejo District, which numbered 8 (eight). After that, 8 (eight) local wisdom and culture were associated with Biology learning. Based on the result, the Local Wisdom and Culture (KALBU) approach can be used as an alternative approach to learning Biology. Eight local wisdoms and cultures contain 3 (three) domains, they arecognitive, psychomotoric, and attitudes. Cognitive domains that can be integrated include: biodiversity, plantae, animalia, conservation, food and medicine, and biotechnology. Psychomotoric domain include: classifying, making products (projects), and innovating. Furthermore, 8 (eight) local wisdom and culture also contains the domain of spiritual and social attitudes (Character Education Strengthening). Globalisasi dapat memberikan dampak negatif yaitu menyebabkan lunturnya budaya dan tersebarnya paham radikalisme dengan mudah. Salah satu upaya untuk mencegah hal tersebut adalah melalui pendidikan yaitu pendekatan pembelajaran.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk implementasi pendekatan KALBU (Kearifan Lokal dan Budaya) tentang pembelajaran Biologi di Kabupaten Purworejo.Metode penelitian berupa penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat studi pustaka. Studi pustaka dilakukan dengan menganalisis mengenai kearifan lokal dan budaya di Kabupaten Purworejo yaitu berjumlah 8 (delapan). Setelah itu, 8 (delapan) kearifan lokal dan budaya tersebut dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran Biologi. Berdasarkan kajian yang dilakukan, pendekatan Kearifan Lokal dan Budaya (KALBU) dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pendekatan dalam pembelajaran. Delapan kearifan lokal dan budaya mengandung 3 (tiga) ranah yaitu ranah pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap. Ranah pengetahuan yang dapat diintegrasikan antara lain: keanekaragaman hayati, plantae, animalia, konservasi, pangan dan obat, serta bioteknologi. Ranah keterampilan meliputi: mengklasifkasikan, membuat produk (proyek), dan melakukan inovasi. Selanjutnya, 8 (delapan) kearifan lokal dan budaya tersebut juga mengandung ranah sikap spiritual dan sosial (Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter).
